Synopsis
A wild, tech-forward reimagining of Jean Genet’s 1947 psychodrama. Reset in the social media era, the play centers on two maids, Solange and Claire, who serve an imperious and abusive “influencer” known only as Madame. Whenever their mistress is away, the sisters obsessively act out their darkest fantasies of humiliating and murdering her. But in this contemporary take, their ritualized role-play doesn’t just unfold in private—it is livestreamed and heavily filtered on their phones. As they broadcast their escalating fantasies, the lines between performance and reality begin to blur in a compelling, claustrophobic parable of modern identity and the destructive desire to both emulate and annihilate those we idolize.
