What I'm seeing lately!
A young bond salesman becomes entangled in the life of his mysterious, party-throwing neighbor.
Impulse rewatch from a box on TodayTix deal. This was my 8th show and now my 200th. This show takes a lot of undeserved flak because it’s a better Broadway musical than it is an adaptation of the Fitzgerald book. I didn’t realize what kind of fanbase Ryan McCartan was bringing to the table—I sat near a group of teens that knew him and seemingly not any of the plot twists and they were going BALLISTIC, shrieking throughout, which was honestly a lot of fun. Didn’t expect anywhere near that level of enthusiasm for a Thursday matinee. I dare say it may even be the best way to watch this particular show, old sport.
