What I'm seeing lately!

Set in a provincial French village in the 1930s, this musical follows the arrival of a middle-aged baker, Aimable, and his beautiful young wife, Geneviève, who are welcomed for ending the town’s long breadless drought. The community is thrown into chaos when Geneviève is seduced by a handsome chauffeur and runs away, leaving the baker too heartbroken to work.

★★★★

Fabulous production value for off-Bway. Cast is great. Very elaborate choreo. Score has a lot of gems, esp. “Meadowlark.” I have some gripes with how the story resolves but all in all have to really recommend this
