w/ Dad. 41/41 Broadway theaters for me 😤 I’m not a devoted follower of the show or anything (I’ve seen parts of two seasons and generally could follow who the characters were) but man this was cool. Have to imagine the fans are really into it.
It could probably be 10 or 15 minutes leaner; I was a little worried it was overhyped by intermission but it turns out the coolest effects are backloaded in Act 2. Louis McCartney gives such a committed batshit performance. Alison Jaye’s impression of Winona Ryder tickled me the entire way. I wish it didn’t all have to be so relentlessly grim but I’m not sure how they could have accomplished that given it’s a prequel to a pretty dark show.
