Is it okay if I didn’t love this? There’s such a strong consensus around this show that I don’t trust my own judgment. Will have to go again. The score was pretty and Joshua and Nichelle sounded fabulous. There’s just a ton of characters and a lot of third-person lyrical exposition and still we’re ending up with some fluffy songs and a three-hour runtime. Would really like more of a set. (Jennifer Lopez and her kids were near me and they had this whole thing where they thought paparazzi were taking pictures and security was blocking me from getting out of the theater and I’ve never felt more Lebowitzy in my life.)
