Great cast clearly having a lot of fun up there. Sweaty Ramin is the hottest man I’ve ever seen in real life. I will say it feels like they’ve made a lot of production decisions “just cuz,” for better or for worse. (The jazzy New Orleans thing, the meta humor, the substantial rewrites.) These things were kinda hit or miss for me, but all in all, I thought it was a pretty entertaining couple of hours playing with fun ideas.
One thing, though—is it really the win for inclusivity that the press tour is making it out to be, in the current cultural and political moment, to cast Jinkx/Hera as (yes, actually, you can’t make this up) a creepy, canonically-hideous sexual groomer? She’s a stitch, but she deserves better, not least because she seems to be bringing in about half the audience here by herself.
