George is really thinking about running in ‘28, huh? God help us.

I was definitely in wait-and-see mode as far as whether this would be worthy of its Broadway run, but I was unexpectedly moved by it. It’s a slow burner for sure but the payoff is there and the message is important. The gasps at the end feel well-earned. I loved the newsroom set, the insertion of archive footage into live video as a historical storytelling device, and, of course, Ilana Glazer’s dramatic turn.

I’m not sure George is the perfect casting for Edward Murrow in a vacuum, but this surely isn’t playing the Winter Garden without him attached to it, so I guess you do what you gotta do for the eyeballs. He acquits himself well enough. This is an impressive debut.

I heard early preview reactions complaining about the blocking and set design, especially for house right, but I think they must have made some adjustments. Other than having to look past a very wiggly gentleman in front of me, I felt like I could see everything clearly.
