Sarah on theater

What I'm seeing lately!

After several years abroad, Helena Alving’s son, Oswald, has returned home from Paris, carrying with him an untold burden. As Helena works to build an orphanage in honor of her late husband—whose disreputable past has cast a long shadow over the family—she and Oswald become entangled with Pastor Manders, housemaid Regina, and Regina’s father Engstrand.

Just-fine production of a Great Play(TM). It gives me no pleasure to report that neither nepo baby is particularly convincing, but Lily Rabe and Billy Crudup carry it. A couple lines feel awkwardly translated. The break towards family drama at the end does not especially serve the rest of the morality play.
