The theater experience ideally involves both doing your best to be considerate of other people and giving them a little grace when they screw up in doing the same. Accidents happen sometimes and some folks, especially at certain shows, are not regular theatergoers and may not have a complete handle on the etiquette. I want more people to discover the joy in this, and we all have to learn things in our own time, so I can overlook an occasional whisper or whatever as long as it’s not majorly distracting from my ability to watch the show.
I went to see this one because I’m close to hitting 41/41 Broadway theaters. The show was actually pretty fun, but anecdotally I found that this was the worst audience on Broadway. The poor usher was running back and forth the whole time telling people to be quiet and stop filming - there were too many offenders to stop them all. One woman right behind me was arguing with him because she wanted to take flash photos on her iPad. An iPad! You have to respect the nerve, I guess. Enter at your own risk.
